Peter Kirby (1921-2000) founded our firm in 1959.
Mr. Kirby received a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Melbourne in Australia. He became a Chartered Patent Agent (United Kingdom) in 1952 and a Registered Canadian Patent Agent in 1954. He was also a Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
Among Mr. Kirby’s many achievements, he was a Past-President and Honorary Member of the Patent and Trademark Institute of Canada, and Past-President of FICPI Canada. Throughout his career, Mr. Kirby sat on several specialized committees and became known as a prolific author and lecturer on issues of Canadian patent law and practice.
Mr. Kirby was recognized as one of the leading members of the Canadian IP community, and to this day our firm remains committed to uphold his legacy of excellence.
